How CastAd works, in plain terms.
What is CastAd?
CastAd is a public directory for brands and social profiles. Post your link for free, or bid for the hero spot at the top of the page.
Posting
Enter one thing: your website URL or social handle (for example, https://yourbrand.com or @yourhandle). We scrape your page, generate a short value proposition with AI, and show it on your card.
Free listings
Free posts go in the list below all paid slots. Order is first come, first served — the first person to post stays at the top. New posts are added below earlier ones. Each URL can only appear once on the free list.
Hero auction
The hero at the top is a paid slot. The highest bid wins position #1. Lower bids fill paid slots #2, #3, and so on. All paid slots always appear above the free list. If two bids are equal, the older bid stays above (first come, first served — same as free listings). Minimum bid to claim the hero (#1): ₵5. Slots #2 and below have no ₵5 minimum — you only need to meet or beat the current holder.
Outbidding
To move above someone, bid more than they paid. Matching their amount places you under them. When someone bids higher than you, they move above you and you shift down one position. You remain in the paid section until someone bids higher than your amount.
Top-up
If you already have a paid slot, you can top up by paying an additional amount using the same URL. Top-up is cumulative — your new payment adds to what you already paid; it does not replace it. Your rank is based on your total cumulative bid. Example: if you already paid ₵5 and top up with ₵10, your total bid becomes ₵15 (not ₵10). This reclaims a higher rank without creating a duplicate entry.
Payments
Hero bids are paid through Paystack. Your bid is only activated after payment is confirmed. Top-ups are additive — each payment adds to your previous paid amount. Minimum bid for the hero (#1): ₵5. Free listings do not require payment.
Clicking a card
Every card links directly to the URL the poster submitted. Clicking opens their site or profile in a new tab.
